As I am writing this blog, it is extremely early in the morning, 5:00 AM, to be exact. Sleep last night was like the elusive butterfly. It fluttered teasingly in and out of my waking consciousness, promising an eventual abstract moment where my brain would finally succumb. Slumber’s promise was not kept. Thus, I laid cozy, warm, and comfortable beneath the soft blankets on our bed. With eyes closed and focusing on my breath as it moved in and out of my body, I hoped it would be the successful catalyst. It was not to be. Eventually, I begrudgingly surrendered to the imminent dawn of a new day and opened my eyes.

The cable box indicated it was 4:00 AM. Our bedroom was aglow with a soft iridescent light. At first, I thought there was a lamp on somewhere, or a cell phone flashing, as a notification was received. There was neither. As I looked for the source of the illumination, a cool breeze wafted through the open window and I looked toward it. Peeking from behind and in between the slats of the half-closed blind I saw it. I got up and raised the blind all the way up revealing a bright, luminous, and dazzling full moon. It was a pink super moon of April which was the reason for its intense brightness. There was an incandescent aura surrounding it that seemed to call to me and lift me up and out of my physical form, so that I could join its vast and incredible energy and receive its other-worldly gifts of expansion, transcendence, and higher consciousness. I stood in front of the open window lost in the moon’s wonderous power and bathed in its ethereal mystery.

By the time I made my way downstairs to my meditation space, I was deeply adrift on a tranquil sea of intense gratitude. There was not a singular focus for my thankfulness. It was more simply a state of being, and an energetic transformation from the mental isolation of me, as a mere mortal struggling through a frustrating night of insomnia, to the soulful unity of the great oneness and light that joins us all together.

My meditation was equally as mystical and inspiring, so I thought I would share it with you now. I hope I can do it justice and I am counting on my team of light to assist me.

If you are listening to the blog, you can close your eyes, if you are comfortable. If you are reading, simply try to shift into a more meditative mindset if you can. Take a long deep breath in, hold it, and then release it. Take another deep breath hold it and slowly release it. Just focus on your breath and let everything else fall into the background.

Now notice with your mind’s eye an infinite web of light in front of you. This web is the matrix of the one energy that binds us together. It has no beginning and no end, at least not that you can see. You observe that at each connecting point there seems to be a beautiful crystal-like orb. There are millions upon millions of different colored orbs, and some are glowing brighter than others. One is far brighter than the rest, and you immediately understand that, that orb, or point of light is you. Effortlessly you merge with the orb of light, becoming more energy than form. You feel a wonderous sense of comfort and familiarity.

Once there, you are met by your spirit guide and Archangel Uriel whose name means “The Light of God”. They begin to ask you telepathically to use your inner wisdom and try to understand why some orbs are brighter than others for you. At first you are overwhelmed and enveloped by feelings of bliss and gratitude. You feel supported, loved, and cared for in a way that is supernal and celestial. Eventually, as you process their question, you begin to realize that the brighter orbs are all of the people that have been a part of your life so far. You recognize your parents, siblings, friends, teachers, mentors, adversaries, and even strangers that impacted your life in some way.

You can now understand how each of these people contributed to your evolution and development as a soul. Your gratitude grows as you begin to appreciate that even people who hurt you and caused you incredible pain, were helping you to awaken and rise to a higher level of consciousness. You are also aware that you intimately know each of these souls from another world. You remember that before coming to the earth plane, they lovingly agreed to be a part of your journey and assist you in accomplishing your life purpose. Those sacred contracts between souls were and are being played out in a most synchronized and coordinated way every day of your physical life. The chance meetings that you thought were random and coincidental, you now know were orchestrated in a miraculous and inexplicable way. Everything you experienced, both the perceived good and bad, were all done for your ultimate benefit.

As you focus on each individual soul you can, not only see the circumstances that unfolded during your time with them, but you can now also extract from each person and experience what lesson they taught you and the impact they were able to have in your awakening as well. During this experience you recognize that you are an essential element within this matrix of light, and you feel the gratitude coming from the totality of the One. You can feel streams of love coming from every part of it, not just from those you know but from every soul in the nearest and farthest corners of the web of light. The compassion, generosity and support you feel is beyond anything you have felt in your life so far, and you feel the need and desire to respond and offer your gratefulness and love as well.

With that, your guide and Archangel Uriel communicate to you that it is time to return to your physical body and to again focus on your breath. “Your breath,” your spirit guide offers you, “is the way for you to continue to accept gratitude and to give thanks in return. With each in-breath,” you are instructed, “breathe in the gratitude and with each out-breath, return that gift of appreciation and thanks to the entire world and every being that shares the earth with you. Allow your intention and desire to be of assistance to others and to demonstrate your love, manifest and reach every galaxy, planet, and realm, including the worlds you know and those you may be unaware of.”

As you follow these instructions you can see the illumination of the great web of light growing brighter with each out-breath you offer to it. You understand that giving and receiving of energy in this way enables the possibility of a unification and a harmony that is the hope and prayer of all souls everywhere, even when they are consciously unaware.

Ok now you may open your eyes, if they were closed, and return to the present moment and the light in the room.

I have been doing a version of this exercise for some time now, but today’s visualization meditation took my experience to another level. I felt I was actively making a difference in a way I had not felt before. Perhaps if each of us made a commitment to believe in the possibility that sending out love, gratitude, and support through our breath of life, then together we can shift our world away from hate and divisiveness, and closer to perfect love, tolerance and unity. We are far more powerful individually than we think, and as one interconnected entity, we are a formidable force for good.  

As the sun began to peek above the horizon, I heard a soft tweet of a singular bird. Another responded in kind, then another and another. Before long there was frenetic, frenzied party of wakening birds singing loudly and excitedly as they greeted the dawn. I felt blessed and happy to be serenaded by that incredibly loud yet, harmonic and cheerful song. The revelry lasted only a short while, just until the spectacular sun made its full presence known. Then, once again silence fell upon the world outside my window, with only an occasional tweet to remind me to be grateful for life itself. I decided that the sweet sound of our feathered friends will forever evoke in me thanks for everything and everyone that is part of my intense and incredible earthly sojourn. Life is what we make it and by how we choose to perceive it. So, let us put on our rose-colored glasses and look for the light of positivity and love and we will surely find it. We got this!
